5-year results of hypofractionated locoregional radiotherapy in early breast cancer HypoG-01 (UNICANCER): a French multicentre, randomized, non-inferiority, phase 3, open-label, controlled trial

Some 1221 women were included, and the 3-week radiotherapy was found to be non-inferior to 5-week radiotherapy with regards to arm lymphoedema risk (hazard ratio 1.09, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.79 to 1.31). Grade 3 or worse adverse event rates were similar between groups.
Comment: 3-week radiotherapy was non-inferior to 5-week treatment in lymphoedema risk, with comparable safety.
